It was a great weekend for racing!  After all the ice, snow and rain that kept us from making several parking lot repairs we were finally blessed with a beautiful day for our opening race.  We would like to express our sincere thanks to Budweiser and Ben E. Keith Distributors for their continuing support of our opening weekend race.

A. J. Enterprizes Top ET:  2009 Top Champ Joe Collier (top) held off Brent Nance to win the final round in Top ET.  This one went right down to the stripe too.  Joe nailed the tree with a .008 reaction with Brent only a hair off that pace with a .011 light.  At the finish line it was Mustang Joe dead on at 6.241 on a 6.24 for the win.  Brent runnered up with a a bitty breakout 4.7277 on a 4.73. Joe was on a roll and won every round of Top on Saturday.

Pinnacle Countertop Solutions Modified ET: Two of our long time Modified racers squared off in the Mod ET final round.  Sambo Tyra had his Camaro dialed  in at a 6.95 and Jerry Ravenscroft had his blue Camaro set to run 8.10.  It was all Jerry off the line with a .051 to Sambo's .080 reaction time. Once out of the gate, Jerry's Camaro got out of the racing groove and forced him to lift early in the run, handing the win over to Sambo.  That final round was the only round Jerry lost all day.

Longmire Plumbing Jr. Dragster: Cade Johnson (top) got the win over Morgan Fulgham in the last round of Jr. Dragster.  Cade had a .078 reaction time and ran 8.74 on an 8.69 dial for the win.  Morgan gave him a little room on the start with her .132 reaction and ran a bit off her dial at 13.00 on a 12.92 to take the runner up honors.
Rhino Linings of Abilene All Class Quick: Vance Lakey shut down Joe Collier's almost double up day, putting the white Mustang in the runner up spot in the last round of Quick.  Vance had a great .016 light to Joe's good .027 light.  At the top end, it was Vance just a hair off the dial at 5.414 on a 5.40 to Joe's runner up 6.250 on a 6.24.  The tree is your friend - That round was won on reaction time.
Pro Footbrake: Tommy Wade parked his Chevy truck in the Winner's Circle by getting the better end of a double break out final round in Pro Footbrake.  Tommy was running against Allan Bracey in the final.  Tommy got the better light with a .067 to Allan's .103.  At the far end, Tommy scored a little break out with a 7.666 on a 7.67 dial and Allan scored a super size break out with a 7.043 on a 7.10 dial.

Whitten Inn Street Money-: In the final round of Street, Robert Rankin in his Challenger used a great dial to hold off Dean Kennedy in the track mascot Volkswagen GTi. Robert cut a great light with a .019 and ran dead on 7.493 on a 7.49 for the win.  Dean was a little slow on the tree with a .169 light and the little Volks blew out the back end with a break out 9.23 on a 9.30 dial.

Max's Kawasaki Motorcycle: 2009 Bike Champion Donnie Oliver got off to a good start with a win in Motorcycle.  In the final, Donnie was paired against Rubert Murray from Ranger.  Donnie got off the line with a slightly better .115 light to Robert's .152 light. Donnie took the win light with a 6.25 over his 6.15 dial.  Robert had to settle for the runner up spot, with his final numbers showing as 7.11 against his 6.90 dial.
Top ET Gamblers: Joe Collier got a running start at the weekend by claiming a win in the Friday Top Gamblers.  Dean Kennedy made him work for it, having driven the track mascot GTi through Top to the final.  Yep, Dean was foot braking that turbo GTi in Top.  In case you think that is some kind of gimme, Joe won the final on reaction time.  Joe got the better light with a .018 to Dean's .057.  At the stripe Joe was there first with a 6.19 on a 6.18. If might have been a different finish if the lights were closer - the biity Volkswagen ran a dead on 9.205 on a 9.20 dial.

Modified Gamblers:  The Mod Gamblers final paired Jeff Tibbets in his black Camaro against Bill Simpkins in the blue Nova.  Bill killed Jeff on the tree with a .007 light to Jeff's .059 light.  But Bill took a little too much stripe and broke out with a 6.549 on a 6.55 dial.  Jeff crossed the line at 6.287 on a 6.27.
