Rambunctios Friday Night Gamblers Results
sponsored this week by Doug Johnston - Snap-on Tools. |

In the Friday Gamblers, it was Bill Tate of Abilene in the winner's circle again this week. In the Top vs footbrake final, Bill ticked off a 6.77 on a 6.73 dial with a .024 light for the win. Robert Schoemer of Abilene drove hist "Stealth Pontiac" to a 9.090 on a 9.08 dial. That was close, but Robert's .069 light gave Bill too much advantage on the starting line. We included the ".090" part because Robert had just run a 9.09 on a 9.09 in the Modified group final. After he dialed down and then ran another 9.09, his footbrake "friends" gave him quite a rash about the whole thing. But then, none of THEM were in the final...

Thursday night was the big money night of the month for the street cars. Sterling Volkswagen paid out $400 in prize money that evening. The first to score some bucks was Ken Kimble. Kim pocketed his cash when he claimed the $50 bounty on Teresa Dempsey by putting her out in the first round. As the Street Eliminator race wound down, it was Edward Martinez of Sweetwater in a 2004 Mustang GT that went home with $50 and a white t-shirt for claiming 3rd place. In the Final, Ross Steffenauer of Abilene in his pickup (um, it was blue?) won the $200 first place money and a blue t-shirt. Runner up was Levi Lackey of Abilene in a 2001 F150, turning his $10 entry into $100 cash and a red t-shirt. Just a reminder that Sterling Volkswagen likes to put up this much win money once a month on a random Thursday. Just a little practice and a $10 bill and you might be going home with some extra spending money.
