| Was a tad warmish this weekend, in case you stayed hiding in the house. The high track temp caused the starting line getting gummed up, so a quick scrape was called for. The rains held off until the very last minute - we had the Top and Mod final in the lanes when it let loose and we called it done at about 10pm |

| Tire rubber comes off, tennis shoe rubber goes on. Track temp - 156F. Who needs a burnout. |
The summers are hot here, you just have to come prepared. Bring everything you might need for the heat - sunscreen, water, shelter, the pool... |

Eliminators |
A. J. Enterprizes Top ET: Michael Johnson of San Angelo and Jon Chamberlain of Millersview split in Top after the rain shut us down. |
Pinnacle Countertop Solutions Modified ET- Mickey Thompson Tires of Texas Winner: Sambo Tyra got a prize in spite of the rain - as the highest finishing racer in Mod points, he won this race's set of Mickey Thompson Tires. Travis Massingill of Snyder was scheduled to be in the final with Sambo. |
| Longmire Plumbing Jr. Dragster: Dustin Douglas took the win in Jr. Dragster when Kyle Macias went red on the start. |
| Rhino Linings of Abilene All Class Quick: Kevin Bracey of Levelland used a .033 light and a dead on 4.905 on a 4.90 to take the win in All Class Quick. Casey "Sandman" Longmire got the better light with a .012 but broke out, running 5.000 under his 5.20 dial. |
| TSTC West Texas Pro Footbrake: Brian Lozano of Lubbock put Jeromy Hefler of Kennedale on the trailer in the final round of Pro Footbrake. Brian went 6.881 on a 6.88 with a .043 light for the win. Jeromy had a bit better .039 light but fell off to a 6.79 on a 6.77 dial. |
| Whitten Inn Street Money: Dean Kenndy put to whup on Theresa Dempsey in the Street Money final. Dean whipped out a .004 light with a 11.13 on a 10.95 dial to take the win. Theresa had a great .020 light but didn't let up in time, breaking out with a 7.88 under her 8.00 dial. |
| Max's Kawasaki Motorcycle: Harry Goebel of Hamlin gets to carry the dice in Motorcycle after Bo Pruitt of Abilene red lit away the start. |
| Top ET Gamblers: Jeremy Smith and Ty Casey were scheduled to face off in the Top final. They decided to just split the cash and go straight into adult relaxation mode. Looks like maybe Ty won something from Jeremy, but we're only speculating. |
| Modified Gamblers: Robert Schoemer and Robert Hector squared off in the Mod gamblers final, and sure enough Robert won - ah, Robert Schoemer won. Robert & Co. left the line about the same time, with Schoemer going .062 against the tree and Hector hitting a .065. But at the stripe, Hector had a fender on the Stealth Pontiac, was on the brakes and rode that brake to a break out 8.805 under an 8.85 dial. That was a tough break for Robert. Schoemer stayed on the right side of his dial, closing out with a 8.884 against his 8.87 dial. |
| Robert Schoemer and Dean Kennedy went up against each other in the Sunday Street Series event final. Both had great lights, with Dean getting a small advantage with a .027 to Robert's .029. But Dean's ride couldn't run the number and at the stripe it Robert with a 11.86 on an 11.81 dial to Dean's 10.99 over his 10.82 dial. |
