Friday Top Gambers:  Joe Collier of Clyde (top) got the better end of a double breakout final round and took the win in our Top Gamblers.  Vance Lakey of Sylvester came in second, but not for lack of trying.  Vance lit Joe up with a .008 light compared to Joe's .025, but at the other end it was Collier with a 6.0192 under a 6.02 dial (thats a .0008 breakout!) and Lakey "way" under at 5.407 under his 5.43 dial.

Friday Modified Gambers:  Travis Massingill of Snyder took out Sambo Tyra in the Mod Gamblers final, and this race was also won on the line.  Sambo was closer to his dial, running 6.748 on a 6.74 dial compared to Travis' pass of 7.107 on a 7.09.  But Travis hit a .064 light compared to Sambo's .072, and that was enough margin to take the stripe and win.
Spectator Race: The spectator race pitted Peenie Walker against Danny Bell.  The track Mules were used for the race vehicles with "Lane Boss" Dale and owner Dean Kennedy assisting the contestants.  No ET/MPH figures are handy, but "slow" would cover that part.  Pennie was a bit behind at half track but the Kennedy/Walker mule was apparently geared for top end power and ran down Dale and Danny at the stripe for the win.  Dale briefly considered bailing out in an attempt to reduce that mule's unsprung weight, but changed his mind at the last moment.  Both racers won free pit passes and Peenie scored a $25 bonus for her win.
Flip Flop Race: Carly Tibbetts (left) held off Kari Marie Morton to take the win in the "can you run 60 feet and back in flip flops on a super sticky race track" race. Both girls appeared to blow off their flops right off the starting line, but Carly was able to gather it up, make the turn at the 60's and get back to the starting line for the win.
Dialing for Dollars: Jeff Tibbetts claimed the cash in Dialing for Dollars, running 6.4507 on a 6.45 dial.   The "Almost Got It" goes to Casey Longmire, with a 5.0232 on a 5.02 dial.  The Footbraker racers beat out the Top ET folks again, boy that's gotta sting a little.

A. J. Enterprizes Top ET:  Casey "Sandman" Longmire got the win in Top ET today, beating out Joe Collier in the last round.  This race was won on the line, with Casey clipping the tree with a .016 reaction time to Joe's .063.  At the other end, Casey took the stripe first with a 5.044 on a 5.01 dial with Joe breaking out to a 5.89 under his 5.90 dial.

Pinnacle Countertop Solutions Modified ET: Jeff Tibbetts put together a string of wins to finish first in Modified ET, with Travis Massingill taking second place.  The final lap shows Jeff with a .041 reaction time and a 6.51 ET on a 6.45 dial for the win. Travis was a bit slower on the tree with a .066 light and finished up with a 7.20 on a 7.11 dial.  There was plenty of hootin' and hollerin' in the Winner's Circle about the Texas vs Texas Tech game.  Tech Jeff got the win on the track, but Starter Justin "Tex" White got the win on the field, final score Texas 34 - Texas Tech 24

Longmire Plumbing Jr. Dragster: This race's Mickey Thompson Tires of Texas Winner is Codi Bettis of DeLeon.  It was all sisters in the Jr. Dragster final round, and little sister Codi put the whup on big sister Whitley right out of the gate.  Codi hit a great .005 light and ran a 13.22 on a 13.19 dial for the win.  Whitley drove to a bitty breakout of 7.918 on a 7.92 dial but her .191 reaction time did her in back on the starting line. By the way, Codi's .005 light was the best reaction time out of all the final rounds today.
Rhino Linings of Abilene All Class Quick: Brent "We Got This" Nance ran a dead on 5.845 on a 5.84 dial with a great .013 reaction time to take the win in All Class Quick.  Runner Up Casey "I'm in two finals and you're not" Longmire broke out to take runner up, clocking 5.014 on a 5.02 dial with a good .024 reaction.
TSTC West Texas Pro Footbrake: Jay Campbell scored another win in Pro Footbrake, beating out Sambo Tyra on the last lap.  Jay ran 6.12 on a 6.10 dial with a .030 reaction for the win.  Sambo ran dead on 6.757 on a 6.75, but his .085 reaction time gave Jay too much advantage at the finish line.

Whitten Inn Street Money: Robert Hector and Theresa Dempsey squared off in the Street money final round.  This round was a double breakout set, with Robert coming out on the good end of things by just a little bit.  Robert had a great .017 reaction time against Theresa's .094, which helped Robert quite a bit.  At the finish line, it was Robert with a .0009 breakout run of 8.6491 on a 8.65 dial for the win.  Theresa's break out was only a little bit more, with the Firebird running 8.1411 under the 8.15 dial for a .0089 breakout.

Max's Kawasaki Motorcycle: Stacey Calder (right) got the win in Motorcycle when John Choat handed over the final round with a red light start.  John hit a just-barely-too-quick -.014 red to Stacey's .174 reaction. Both ran it out anyway, with Stacy running 6.26 on a 6.27 and John clocking 6.19 on a 624 dial.
SUNDAY - SUNDAY - SUNDAY
Just as a reminder about Sundays - we do a regular track prep, so if you have some testing to do on your race car, bring it out.  It's only $15 at the gate and $5 for a trailed car test-n-tune card.  And, you can go as many laps as you can stand.  If you're wondering what kinda of cars we run on Sunday - well...just about anything.
Sterling Volkswagen Street Eliminator Series: In today's final round of the Street Eliminator we had a Chevy Truck vs Ford Car, and Chevy takes the win. Robert Schoemer picks up another win in the Series with a .111 reaction time and a break out 11.37 under an 11.40 dial.  The break out didn't matter because what did matter first was Glen Snow's -.065 red light.  Glen might have had Robert, since the Mustang ran a close 9.48 on a 9.45 dial.  We had 16 cars in this weeks runoff and Sterling Robertson upped the ante to a total $400 purse.  After the first round, a "Schoemer Split" was arranged with the 8 drivers left, with the stiputaion that the final winner got $5 from each of the 7 also-rans.  To throw some more cash into the race, there was a $20 per round bounty put on last years champ Theresa Dempsey.  She held on to the bounty until the 3rd round, when she went red against Glen Snow.  Glen pocketed a $40 bonus on that round.

When you haul stuff for a living, there's going to be down time.  Say you have a lot of horsepower and torque just sitting around, well - what are you going to do with that.  That's right - go racin'!  We have to thank Pete and Linda of Morrison Trucking and brothers Kelly and Scott Moore of Blitz Trucking for some great late afternoon entertainment.  These folks lease to Integrated Wind Energy, so when you see those mondo pieces of wind turbines rolling down the highway, give 'em a wave while they are on the job.

Bring back 13 truck friends and we'll run a 16 Truck Super Heavy Eliminator!
Hey Sterling!  Our advice? Let the Wookie win. The big Western Star leaves just a hair quick, going -.026 red.  Pretty good light for having, what, maybe 5 feet of roll out?
Good thing the photographers brought the wide lens!
