2008 Awards Banquet
The Abilene Dodge Dragstrip 2008 awards banquet was held at the Abilene Civic Center Conference Center on December 6. A special thanks goes out to this year's MC Steve Longmire and to Cathy Spivy for cooking up the table decorations with husband Roy, along with Cindy and Stu West assisting. The three piece band "Exit 343" kept us jammin' through the evening. A big thank you to Star Dodge for the loan of the display vehicles - promise we didn't "road test" the Challenger, although the temptation was there. We certainly appreciate all of our 2008 sponsors that made this sucessful year possible. Congratulations to all our champions and we hope to see yo on the track, defending your position in 2009. Thank you also to our track personnel for all your hard work this year. To all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. |

Cathy Spivy cooked up the decoration scheme and enlisted her husband Roy along with friends to get it all setup. Thanks to the racers that donated the parts - from the looks of many items, the transition from usable part to table decoration was rather traumatic. |
