Each Summit
SuperSeries track will determine a “performance Rating”
winner by September 11th based on the first 30 rounds, win
or lose. PR champions from each track will run each other at
the Summit Team Finals in their division. The champion of
each run-off will advance to the World Finals. Winners
at the Division Team Finals will get $1000 travel money for
the trip to the Rockingham NC World Finals on October 17-19,
2008. Qualified cars will race on Sunday, during
the professional rounds on Speed TV for the Summit World
Championship! |
How To Join:
- Become an IHRA member and get your assigned competition number by calling Donna Harper at 419-660-4219. You will need to declare your home track and class (Box or No Box) at that time.
- New members can obtain forms online at
www.ihra.com or from your home track.
- Register for the local points program at the IHRA Summit Super Series participating track of your choice.
Participant Guidelines:
- Summit Super Series points will not begin until you are registered with BOTH IHRA and your local track.
- Abilene will only count Summit Series rounds
in Top ET and Modified ET
- Points may be earned between February 1st and September
8, 2008.
- Participants may NOT change car number, class or track after running their first SSS event.
- Participants may only enter at 1 racetrack and earn points in 1 class.
- Performance Rating is based on the first 30
rounds of competition, won or lost.
- Racers MUST display IHRA and Summit SuperSeries decals on both sides of vehicle during entire 2008 season.
- IHRA/Live Nation employees, team members, staff and IHRA track owners/operators/managers are not eligible.
- Tax and title responsibility of No Box winner.
- Performance contract required for Box Winner.
- The top 5 in IHRA or NHRA 2007 national points standings are not eligible.
- “Gifted Rounds” are not permitted. Racers receiving ‘dives’ or ‘gifted’ rounds as determined by solely IHRA will be disqualified.
- Buy back rounds and run off wins do not count.
- Bye runs – racer must stage and take the tree.
- If your competition number or other info is incorrect on your ET slip, you must notify your track and they must edit in the correct info before submitting to IHRA.
- Tracks must electronically transfer round sheets to IHRA before noon on the Tuesday after the event.
- Tie breakers – reaction time, closest to dial, number of wins, number of runner ups, number of semi’s, coin flip by IHRA. Reaction Time: – Average of 10 best green light reaction times (win or lose) Closest dial: – Average of 10 best non breakout runs (win or lose).
- All PR problems must be fixed by home track before September 13, 2008. On September 14th track points are final – no exceptions.
- Calculating your “PR”: - Your PR is calculated using your first 30 rounds of competition. Won or lost. - Once a racer reaches 30 rounds, his PR is established and can not be changed. - If a competitor does not compete in 30 rounds, the number of rounds necessary to meet 30 rounds will be added as losing rounds.
